Love, laughter, and warm hues were the canvas of Katie and Drew’s enchanting November wedding at the picturesque Flying Caballos Ranch wedding venue in San Luis Obispo. This magical day unfolded on the sprawling ranch that holds not only the memories of countless celebrations but also the heart and soul of the groom’s family, who are the proud owners of this charming San Luis Obispo rustic, vintage, yet modern wedding venue.

This family-owned haven was the perfect spot for Katie and Drew to exchange vows and create memories that would last a lifetime. As a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer that specializes in barn and vineyard weddings, I was so thrilled to be chosen to photog their wedding day in one of Slo’s best wedding venues and one of my favorites.

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of San Luis Obispo, Flying Caballos Ranch exudes vintage charm with a touch of modern elegance, thanks to its newly constructed barn adorned with gorgeous glass doors. As a wedding venue it has so much to offer. Katie, her two daughter’s, and her bridesmaids got ready in the vintage farm house with it’s eclectic colors and shabby chic furnishings- one of my favorite getting ready spots in all of slo because it’s so cute for bride photos. This day wasn’t just about Katie and Drew, but also about Katie’s beautiful daughters and Drew’s commitment to all three special girls in his life.

Bohemian Colors Perfect for A Fall Wedding in SLO

Katie, a vision of bohemian beauty, wore a lace gown that reflected her free-spirited personality. Her bouquet and reception was full of warm tones of orange and yellow wildflowers and grasses, adding a pop of color to the fall landscape. The overall effect was nothing short of breathtaking, creating a picturesque scene that perfectly matched the couple’s vibrant personalities. I love thinking out of the box when it comes to flowers and when couples use the same flower and thistles that grow around their venue.

Despite the unpredictable storm clouds looming in the sky, the love between Katie and Drew illuminated the atmosphere. They took in in stride and elected to laugh and have fun no matter what. The raindrops danced upon the ranch as their wedding ceremony began- creating a cozy and intimate ambiance in the beautiful glass barn. The couple exchanged vows full of love and laughter surrounded by the warmth of their closest family and friends. I almost loved the rain at this moment- it created such a sense of serenity and the sound of the falling water over their vows really brought you into a romantic fairytale.

As the ceremony unfolded, the storm seemed to mirror the twists and turns of life. But just when everyone thought the rain might never stop, a magical moment occurred. The clouds parted, and the rain ceased just in time for the couple’s first kiss as a married duo.

Sunset Photos Full of Love and Romance

The real magic, however, revealed itself during the golden hour. The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm glow across the landscape. We were able to walk up into the hills and take advantage of the properties amazing views of SLO for our sunset photos. Katie and Drew, with hearts full of joy, embraced the radiant sunset, and the distant storm clouds created a mesmerizing backdrop for their photographs.

The laughter echoed through the ranch as the couple, known for their infectious energy, celebrated their love with family and friends. From heartfelt toasts to energetic dance moves, every moment radiated with the joy of two souls coming together.
