Jackie and Mac were married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse this spring, along with their beautiful baby girl and joined by their closest loved ones. The SB Courthouse is such a perfect place for a micro wedding because not only is it an affordable wedding venue, it is also incredibly beautiful. One of the best spots you can get married is on the Palm Terrace- overlooking a garden surrounded by gorgeous architecture, overflowing botanical beauty, perfect sunshine- and focus your wedding budget on the things that matter most (like beautiful photographs of your day) and being with the ones you love.
Jackie and Mac wanted an intimate wedding that was low key and relaxed, without a lot of stress, and to keep their wedding day affordable as they have a baby girl to think of now. Jackie is a self proclaimed plant nerd and fell in love with all the lush greenery and Spanish Style of the Courthouse, and Mac was already fond the area having went to school at UC Santa Barbara. The got engaged over looking a view in Austin and they became man and wife over looking the tropical gorgeous gardens of Santa Barbara on the Palm Terrace of the Courthouse, just like in an old Hollywood Movie.
I convinced Jackie to let me come over to her hotel where she was getting ready with her adorable, beautiful baby daughter and get some getting ready photos- because as you probably know, I have a huge weak spot for bridal portraits. I am so glad I did because Jackie is an absolute dreamboat- I had no idea when she booked with me how beautiful she is so when I walked in I was like WOW-and she is as sweet as she is gorgeous. I had so much fun taking her bridal portraits as she got ready to walk down the aisle, even though there were a few baby tears involved. It’s no fun getting dressed for a wedding when you are a baby..!
Jackie wore a simple, classic sheath dress in a creamy ivory tone. It was so iconic but also unique and she wore it so perfectly. The ivory tone brought out the warmth of her gorgeous skin and the green in her eyes, and it suited the Santa Barbara Courthouse so well- definitely giving Jackie O vibes. She wore stiletto heels in a matching cream tone with bows on the straps that added an element of fun and whimsy to her classic look. Her beauty is undeniable and with her delicate lace veil and bouquet of amazing peach flowers, she really was a dream come true.
Then I met her adorable husband Mack over at the courthouse and we got a few pictures of him- after I helped out with a little problem with the arch flowers… But I am a total wedding day MacGyver, so those flowers got on the arch with a little bit of duct tape, and a whole lot of sweat, and some help from amazing family. What is a wedding day without one or two hiccups? Not to toot my own horn too much, but I am never too good to roll up my sleeves and help out when I see a need.
Mac looked dashing in a blue suit with a floral boutonniere that complimented Jackie’s bouquet. He was excited and a little bit nervous but so eager to see Jackie and his baby daughter come round the corner. Jackie says Mac is great at listening to things and remembering her hopes and dreams- and Mac acknolegded that Jackie is
By the time Jackie turned the corner, an absolute glowing spring day angel, everyone was eagerly awaiting that moment when Mac first saw her face. He was pretty emotional and the love in his eyes was so real. It was very moving and so very sweet. They declared meaningful and romantic vows, exchanged rings, and were sealed together as man and wife with a beautiful kiss.
I absolutely love doing couples photo shoots at the Sb Courthouse and I’ve been practicing for 15 years, so I am well aware of every secret spot and every nook and cranny- yet it feels like every time I go I find something even better to include as part of my shoot. This day was no different and we had so much fun taking photos in front of all the beautiful architecture and in front of all the gorgeous trees and gardens.
